Prashanth, after almost a year, had couple of films - Thagappansamy and Adaikalam releasing in theaters last year.

However the movies managed a mediocre run at the box office.

Prashanth has been hoping for reversal of fortunes with Pulan Visaranai II.

A sequel to Pulan Visaranai, directed by R K Selvamani and produced by Ibrahim Rowuthar, the movie is still to near completion.

With his Kutrapathirigai managed to hit theaters after overcoming all obstacles, Selvamani is geared up to complete Pulan Visaranai II in a hurry and release it the next couple of months.

Grapevine is abuzz with rumors that Prashanth has been chosen to play the lead role in Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's 'Ponnar Shankar'. His father Thyagarajan might produce the same.
